Porcelain Veneers

Get the smile you have always wanted with porcelain veneers at 436 Dental.

What is Porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers can correct crooked, misaligned, chipped, gappy, or permanently discoloured front teeth, among other issues. Veneers, which are made of eggshell-thin layers of porcelain that are bonded to your front teeth, veneers are the go-to treatment for the perfectly straight white smiles seen on celebrities and movie stars.

What is the process to getting veneers?

The porcelain veneer procedure usually requires two or more sessions at 436 Dental.

First, the tooth is prepped, which involves removing a thin layer of enamel and taking a dental impression, which will be used to fabricate your veneers – a process that typically takes a couple of weeks. When your veneers are finished, they will be bonded and cured with a light-sensitive resin.

Frequently asked questions.

If you have healthy gums and teeth, the chances are veneers will be a quick and simple solution for you. Patients with tooth decay, gum disease and root canal infections will need to have these issues treated prior to considering veneers, and it may be that your dentist recommends alternative treatments in these cases.

Because veneers sit on top of your teeth, your dentist will need to remove a layer of enamel proportionate to the thickness of the veneers. This is usually done with a local anaesthetic. When your custom veneers are finished, your dentist will bond them in place with a special curing light before manually fine-tuning their look and shape.

With really good care, veneers can last up to 15 years!

Because porcelain is less porous than real teeth, veneers are less likely to stain. However, to keep your pearly white smile, you’ll need to practise basic dental hygiene.

No! Although it’s not usually necessary, we might use a local anaesthetic when applying veneers because it typically causes little discomfort. Your cosmetic dentist will go through every detail of your procedure with you so you know precisely what to anticipate.
